Our sister union in the Philippines is called COURAGE, and CUPE Sask has been a partner for many years. We were honoured to host their president, Santiago. We visited members in Regina, Weyburn, and Saskatoon from healthcare, universities, libraries, education, & municipalities.

2nd annual Dog Day BBQ was a smashing success! Each year we have a free BBQ at the dog park to recognize the work CUPE members do at the Saskatoon SPCA, and as an excuse to collect photos of cute dogs.

CUPE Saskatchewan proudly participates in Back to Batoche, and has for many years. This year we sponsored the movie night, made hundreds of bags of popcorn, gave away lots of resources, and handed out swag.

There is one person who could decide, today, to give healthcare workers a real raise. That person’s name is Scott Moe.
While bargaining was taking place inside, we were outside calling on Scott Moe and his bargaining agent to get a fair deal done now. Healthcare workers have gone over 3 years without a raise during a cost of living crisis. The result has been a staffing and retention emergency.

As Saskatchewan’s community union, we dedicate many months of the year to outreach. BBQs, parades, Pride celebrations, pow wows, festivals. We think it’s important to connect with the people who use the services that CUPE members deliver every day. That outreach just got a whole lot more stylish!

Our community BBQ at Saskatoon City Hall is about to begin! CUPE’s municipal and library workers in Saskatoon are co-hosting. They even splurged and got cheese for the burgers. With close to 2,000 people expected — that’s a lot of cheese!
