What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

Taking my lad to London tomorrow for a last ever visit to Great Ormond St Hosp for heart transplant clinic on Wednesday.
He’s outgrown the place (it being a kids hospital). Am sure I’m not the first parent to express it but leaving behind the place & staff who saved his life over 17 years is hard.

I don’t want to blame everything on neurodivergence, but I have to say that the high sensitivity, misidentification of emotions, lability, aggression AT ME, & conflicting needs of my children make me wish I’d not had these children.
They have no concept of how hard I work to have their needs met.

Being a short woman, Birmingham O2 was not a good venue for me to see CMAT this evening (I barely glimpsed the band) but GOD DAMN they’re good. And she, Ciara Ann Mary, has SUCH a voice. Also they’re great fun.

I don’t mean to me unkind but I’ve had to block someone for being belligerent about my tongue in cheek luxury cars post. People who cannot read & then check whether someone’s post is consistent by looking at their timeline, before being reactive are outside of my own capacity today.
