Our second finalist for the 2025 Discovery Circle is Dr Julian Carosi! 👏

A Postdoctoral Researcher in our Lysosomal Health in Ageing Group, Dr Carosi is looking at using the body’s own systems to remove disease-causing proteins.

Our third finalist will be announced next week.

New research has identified nerve pathways that relay pain signals from bowel to brain, paving the way for new IBS and IBD treatments. 🧠

Lead author Dr Andrea Harrington says the findings revealed two distinct neural pathways in the spinal cord acting as “gatekeepers”.
