Yeah my library in the US has sewing machines! It looks like there are places you can rent a machine from here. I'm going to my mom's house soonish though so maybe I'll wait (I need her help too probably lol)

I don’t even have a sewing machine lmao, I guess I’ll wait until I go to my mom’s and see if my grandma’s sewing machine works. Or I wonder if there’s a place in Tokyo that will let me borrow/rent a sewing machine? 👀

Normally when foreign friends visit, they just ask us all where we're from and how I speak Japanese. But with her it was like, "What's wrong with her? Why doesn't that one speak?" we were crying laughing.

There was one day in particular, an old lady working at a small Hoto restaurant in Yamanashi, and then a gruff but sweet sushi chef when we got back to Tokyo both did this. They looked so confused by what our relationship was or something 🤣
