Why do I feel view transitions are going to be abused so hard & make the web miserable 🫠🫠🫠

rocks made humans think, but we find thinking too hard, so now we're trying to make rocks think.

why do I feel like this isn't the first time this has happened

you wrote this code 20 minutes ago haphazardly, it's hardly "battle-tested"

low key someone should make an RSC version of the stripe dashboard just to prove how it's not all about SEO.

it's such a poor data loading experience that could be largely solved with server-side fetching, bundle shaking, and suspense.

wish I could record a video, but I don't want to leak data

If I said for $100/month you'd never have to see another ad - would you take it? $500? $50? You wouldn't pay anything?

What's your price point?

riding on the subway. keep trying to load something on my phone between stops. refresh refresh.

Arrive at the station and put my phone away because things are happening. Train starts moving.

Pull my phone back out and go back to refreshing nothing.

Let's say we build LLMs that can self train and gain _experience_. Will those LLMs have the foresight to know when or HOW to unlearn experiences? Like we humans do? Would it even be possible to unravel those experiences in vector space? Is this what we do, just paper on more complex experiences?

When you haven’t seen someone in four months but they ask you “did you get a haircut?”

Like uhh, yeah
October 9, 2025 at 8:14 PM
If your customers wince every time they receive a bill from you then you're doing something wrong. This is a sign of an over-extracting business

You should always extract LESS value than you create. If not you won't stay in business for very long (w/o perverse network effects such as a monopoly).

Claude Code rewrote a 10 year old 2500 line file and broke it out into discrete and well organized code that works.

It’s absurd.

Claude Code: I came up with a plan to refactor your 2500 line code file. Here's a four phase plan with each phase taking one week.

Me: let's just one shot it in 60 minutes

It’s not that they don’t care. It’s that culture is far wider, more expansive, and exponential than any one person’s purview. The whole point of it is that you don’t know how people will use it. That’s the power. You can’t expect individuals to hold the context of an entire culture in one mind.

the problem with infinite boycott is it prevents normalization. so either we hold our judgement forever, punishing those who we disagree with (or who we hold tepid moral superiority over) and create a permanent buffer. or we give it a shot.

we've done a lot of the former.
