In an onsen you can relax and immerse yourself in a deep sense of peace, while waking up to the sensitivity of your body and perception compared to the outside world.
In my painting, men and women share the same water, whereas traditionally the two genders are separated.

The onsen (hot spring baths) are one of the aspects of Japanese culture I loved the most. I wanted to celebrate those places of peace and healing, as well as some wonderful people I met in Kyoto during my journey, who kindly gave me permission to portray them.

Facing the fate of events, waiting for it, meeting it, overcoming it, or accepting it.
A face stares confidently and a little slyly, aware that it was painted directly over the rust (I usually partially remove it to avoid excessive aggression towards the paint I add later).
