Well at least the news profile of local government is soaring and media outlets are producing trackers and lists so voters can check if their elections are postponed..

Quite liking the easy to use Sky one here, even if this image of the four 'leaders' looks well odd.

Twenty-one of the 29 councils that have confirmed to Sky News that they will be seeking a delay to their May elections are led by Labour. Opposition parties are furious at the potential delays.

Must be awesome to not only believe your own hype but assume others do too.

On one hand: it's not about me personally but about uniting the UK.
On the other: I am the man to unite the party and have suffered "personal pain and difficulties" in recent days.

The last Eye of 2025...And my first Christmas one!

Festive titbits include the local political branch which came a Christmas cropper thanks to AI slop, and the council red tape that denied a village its full set of seasonal lights...ho ho no!
Tory-run Slough has “lost track” of 500 people living in temporary accommodation, meaning it underestimated its spending by £10m. It blames staff turnover and incompetence, and a new IT system; but while the blunder was spotted in October 2024, officers have only just fessed up to councillors.

(I've just finished a project looking at the experiences of people of colour who also have a learning disability - decades on, people remember and feel the impact of ableism and racism combined.)
Growing up with a sister who has a learning disability, I’ve seen people shout the R word at her. That was in the 80s and 90s. Now we’re in the 2020s and I am seeing world leaders and tech leaders use it and I cannot begin to tell you how devastating that is.
