There is even a Taoist/Buddhist festival that welcomes them into our realm. People give them offerings (food, drink, and money) to offer them relief for roughly a month before the gates of Heaven and Hell close again and they return. Hungry Ghosts can even be ancestors/relatives (2/3)

they are a type of Hungry Ghost (I specifically reference the Taoist interpretation).

They are spirits who are left to haunt the spirit realm and be forever tormented by an insatiable hunger. Their “hunger” is based on what actions they had in real life and can attach to people. (1/2)

cringe, as an idea, is a dead end. it’s a means of writing off sincerity and earnestness in pursuit of some ill-defined concept of above-it-all cool. letting it help define online culture was a mistake. if you view everything as cringe, you are living an empty life

Honestly I think people are too quick to use the word cringe. To me, cringe is when I’m a little secondhand embarrassed but it’s ultimately harmless. Nothing cringe about millions of people wanting to speak out
