At Thanksgiving dinner I explained the book I’m reading, Cugel the Clever, to a 9 year old boy. “It’s about this nasty person named Cugel who always lies and does bad things and is punished by a magician, but he keeps lying and keeps getting punished - and it’s very funny!” He didn’t seem into it.

"My mentor always tells me, 'Kim, dogs don’t bark at parked cars." They’re coming after critical race theory, 1619, intersectionality because these ideas mobilized people. They gave them the language to actually articulate what they were seeing with their own eyes," says Kimberlé Crenshaw.

I am finding it incredibly tedious to create a Google Slide presentation from 100+ existing images. 100+ times to say new slide. import from computer. choose image. repeat 100 times. no option to batch import, the popular extension has been disallowed (only 10 images per hour), so.... asdfasdf

I am re-reading Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance. It is so good!! Who else loves this book? (Or “these books” as they were originally novellas and short stories, later collected)

Sometimes I go to a toddler thing like a park or a library or something and the parents all seem to know each other and they kinda ignore me and sometimes that makes me feel like they’re judging me or I’m intruding in their space or I don’t belong. Maybe it’s irrational!

I'm literally crying watching The Incredibles when mom gives a speech to her kids in the cave, telling them "these bad guys aren't like the ones on TV, they'll literally kill you." And when the daughter is trying to apologize for messing up... (this is yet another parent tweet)

A friend taught me how to draw storyboards in Layer Comps in Photoshop. This has changed my world!!! This is so much easier than the way I was doing it before.

I have used Storyboard Pro but it's, like, $80 a month?? So I don't want to pay that for personal work...

Did guys in 1985 tweet “wow I watched Mr. Mom and I really relate to this!!!!!!” I sure hope they did.

I’m watching The Incredibles 2 and it’s crazy how much I relate to the sad overwhelmed dad. This movie is good! I can’t imagine being a stay at home parent of THREE kids (obviously that’s usually a MOM). I guess a lot has and could be said about this topic… I like The Incredibles 2!

Remember the character “Fat Bastard” in Austin Powers? He was Scottish so it’s Mike Meyers doing a Scottish accent. And in one scene Fat Bastard is talking about charts and graphs. And one of them is really sexy. He’s like “It’s a sekseeeeee Venn dai-yu-grehmmmmm!!!” (The kids laugh hysterically!!!)

So it’s a science fiction story about a boy and his robot. Evan had a robot… Model Six. They were best friends. It was “Evan’s Six.” And he was “Six’s Evan.” (The children in the audience go wild)
