One Remembrance Day when I was a boy my father told me the time he dragged a wounded airman out of a crashed bomber during #WorldWar2 only for him to die in father’s arms. My father cried.

My father fought for King and Country in the @royalairforce during the #BattleOfBritain in #WorldWar2. He survived, though was wounded when the Luftwaffe bombed his airfield.

The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 took a dramatic turn on this date when Bela Kiraly led the Hungarian militia in an assault on Communist Party HQ. In response the Soviets invad Hungary. Kiraly escaped to USA. He returned in 1990s to become an MP. www.theguardian.com/world/2009/j...
