Well the reason I was looking over my finances is because I am hoping to get a new car next year.
And I just put new brakes & rotors on my current car, so that’s sort of spoiling.

The difference between Rory and Finley is astonishing. Rory’s like, are there ice crystals on my fur? No, then I’m fine.
Meanwhile Finley, well we had some hail today while I was saying goodbye to my parents and he ran to the door and whined to be let inside.

My annoyance is more at the knowledge that our site director didn’t REALLY look into it. I think they just read the HR policy and called it at that rather than actually speaking to somebody in HR for clarification.

I’m not going to argue with them. But yes, I almost want to reply with “you know this would also look good for you too, right? Give the perception that you care about employees mental well-being”

But I’m not asking to bring him to work. I’m asking about a ‘special event’ where he and I hang out in a conference room for an hour and people can stop by and pet if they so choose.

I just responded with that’s disappointing but thanks for looking into it.

They responded with the HR Policy:
“only service dogs specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are allowed on premises. Dogs who are merely pets or whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals”
