Eyyo fuckin hell this plays out like something I'd write

I did this anthology series on cohost about cryptids and mythical creatures being recognized as endangered species by the UN, and it has a lot of these flavors (though the dinosaurs were on the Navajo Reservation of northern Arizona)

For clinicians the distinction between like, GAD and Panic Disorder is almost entirely about a panic response loop that is very, very physiological in nature. But like, GAD folks especially have issues with dizziness, vertigo, sweating, etc. that can hit without real reason, if that sounds familiar.

Having that sort of depth of sensation with the 'wave' analogy makes it sound like you might have been living with a really chatty somatic response too.

We're still untangling a lot about the brain and its many, many flavors of hypervigilance / hyperreactivity, but that somatic system is a big bit.

Ah the wonderful moment when a SSRI actually does its job. Anxiety sucks balls, especially if what's been happening is dysregulated nervous signalling. It can awkwardly hotwire into the stress system and become a huge issue because suddenly mild perception gets amplified into near-panic.

Draw a background exactly once, then never again do scenery shots so you can avoid doing all that work again
