Kids reading for pleasure, nice, good. But i am here for kids reading for anger, reading for trouble, reading for tearing it all down. (Yes this is me wishing Oink still existed)
That’s so disappointing. I still credit Mega Robo Bros with getting my hardest to reach readers started.

I finally got round to framing this tea towel I bought at the Irish in Britain exhibit last year. Hilariously, my daughter read it and was like Oh yeah I know most of these between you (Mayo) and daddy (Down) 😂 that made me very happy!

We’re talking trains and clockwork conspiracies with the superb Sam Sedgman…
I’ve been very quiet on here but that’s because Tis the season of getting @stepintostories.bsky.social up and running! I’m so excited about our lineup this year. Please do give us a follow and share if you can.
Thanks to Dyu-Ha for the photo on @unsplash.com
Happy bringing of the light to all those who celebrate the solstice! I enjoyed watching the #newgrangeSolstice this morning online. It does feel like the most liminal time of the year today.
I have never seen it! Maybe this year…
Watching The Christmas Chronicles with my wee man. Definitely feels like Christmas now! Who knew Kurt Russell was the best person to play Santa!
Feeling festive and ready to cosy up and hibernate like a bear who eats too much cheese and reads all day. Basically I want to be a wintery picture book character! #imadeit
Spent a lovely couple of days in the big smoke. Got to see the @britishlibrary.bsky.social medieval women in their own words exhibit and some crazy good art at @tatemodern.bsky.social and spend some time with awesome people. Even made it home…eventually! 🚝 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚍🚕
Ah that’s a pity. Yes I’m going this year. Maybe another time ☺️
Are you going to the egg club meet up on Saturday?
Watch out I just had an account follow me pretending to be Oliver Jeffers. It definitely wasn’t him.
Doing a children’s book advent calendar over on our festival page. Be sure to check it out!
It’s time for the Step into Stories advent calendar…

Here at Step into Stories we are committed to sharing the best of what the children’s story world has to offer and we know how important reading for pleasure is. It’s the perfect time of year to cosy up with your children and enjoy a good book!
