I wrote a song about the mindset of breaking up with a country. Specifically the one I live in right now.

It appears in this collection, available January 1st. There will be listening parties. A compilation of #protestmusic from around the world, curated by @kiffie.info

Yes, it has clean guitar tones and chiming. Yes, it has chords with open strings.

But is “Heaven” by Talking Heads jangle? This is the question. After playing it on my Coronado XII last night, I believe it is.

Your take?

I remember the novel Inferno by Larry Niven, which applied hard sci-fi rules to a person journeying through the seven circles of Hell. It occurs to me that it would make a hell of a cool game.

I am very honored to accept the first FIFA Guitar Prize. This validates that I am better than Hendrix, Steve Vai, SRV, Mick Ronson, or anyone else who never won it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

What’s the most sublime moment in rock’n’roll? For me, it’s when Lou bellows “do the dog!” in the break on Head Held High on Loaded by Velvet Underground.

You could see it differently, but you’d be wrong.

I may be entering one of the phases of my life where the only two albums I can listen to are Loaded and Transformer. This happens, typically in times of reinvention. Not a bad thing at all.

Should “get money out of politics” (such as overturning Citizens United) include de-monetizing all political influencers on social? Seems to me that the conflicts will continue as long as there is money to be made in doing so. I recognize that this would extend to people I like and follow.

I am feeling great and down 58 lbs (so far) from avoiding carbs and sugar. Stayed compliant through dinner and still had a great meal.

But I’m now looking at a slice of pecan pie and echoing the words of Carol Sturka on Pluribus: “I’m gonna Sid Vicious this shit like it’s Chelsea fucking Hotel.”

I wonder what the world would be like if tech bros had been saying "reform" instead of "disrupt" and "improve" instead of "impact" for the past 30 years.

I think it would be better. The fact that the vocabulary is carefully chosen to be morally neutral is a feature, not a bug.
