There’s also one in Glasgow Life Museums c1818-20 with long sleeved bodice & probably interchangeable spencer (I’m not sure how well the latter would have fitted if worn over the former). Sadly not photographed but we do know who the wearer was collections.glasgowmuseums.com/mwebcgi/mweb...

And you never know how old museum descriptions are. Ours are taken en masse from the original accession registers so vary a lot in terms of terminology and detail. They are being enhanced but it takes time …

It’s part of a wider Glasgow Life Museums’ project. The provenance published for the European textiles in the Burrell Collection is as much as is currently known and is updated whenever new information comes to light.
