I'm recovering from a breakdown at the moment and trying to get back on my feet with my workshops & Etsy.

If you could maybe RT my new creative & mental health workshop (previous few posts today,Friday 25th) it would help so much to show it to a few more eyes.
I'd really appreciate it, thankyou 🌿

Tiny treasures on my feed in the week we discovered tiny ladies’ magazines in a Victorian purse
Well this is utterly incredible! I fear we may have been out-miniatured... The tin with a porthole is an elegant touch.
Wow, pretty small! But are we talking 'Bryce's Smallest English Dictionary' small?

There’s also one in Glasgow Life Museums c1818-20 with long sleeved bodice & probably interchangeable spencer (I’m not sure how well the latter would have fitted if worn over the former). Sadly not photographed but we do know who the wearer was collections.glasgowmuseums.com/mwebcgi/mweb...

And you never know how old museum descriptions are. Ours are taken en masse from the original accession registers so vary a lot in terms of terminology and detail. They are being enhanced but it takes time …

Thanks Jenn. I had two fantastic volunteers help me enhance the embroidery descriptions (but still need to complete enhancing the Burrell lace …)

It’s part of a wider Glasgow Life Museums’ project. The provenance published for the European textiles in the Burrell Collection is as much as is currently known and is updated whenever new information comes to light.
