I don’t get chemically depressed, per se, but I have definitely experienced that anhedonic flatness. I can only assure you it’s temporary (though, like, “much of my early 30s” doesn’t FEEL temporary). 🫂

I love to look at eras of horror genres, and their cultural moment. Early 80s slashers were AIDS metaphors, in which the “promiscuous” were punished right away, and everyone else lived in fear they’d be next.
