#PathSky 37M with a large retroperitoneal mass. Big, fatty thing. The outside quite rightly worried about well-differentiated LPS and a lipomatous angiomyolipoma, but MDM2, SMA and melanocytic markers were negative. Some WDL are MDM2-neg/MDM4-pos. Should we do more molecular ? Or something else?
When undertaking a new project or initiative, there are 3 types of elements to be considered:

1. must have = requirements
2. great to have
3. nice, but not necessary to have

Important to clarify from the get-go which mix of elements will result in success
@mcuban.bsky.social please see thread below 👇🏻for important message from Pediatric Pulmonologist @robyncohenmd.bsky.social regarding inhalers for #asthma patients and their (lack of) affordability
@mcuban.bsky.social - kids with #asthma and the families and doctors who love them could use your help.
Inhalers that kids can use to prevent asthma attacks - HFA inhalers that attach to a spacer - are so expensive that families literally can’t afford to help their kids breathe. 1/
In professional life when one fails/something doesn’t go as planned, or one is not selected for a role or promotion, this termed a “SET-BACK”

Re-frame: SET-FORWARD = situation that requires reflection & action towards a go forward plan

Failure is 🚫 failure unless it is a failure to learn
It’s the first full work week of 2025 - what strategies are you employing this year?

For me, it is more active / intentional choosing of what to work on, coupled with when/where to accomplish that work

#MedSky #PathSky
In 2024, I experimented with a “Done List” - deciding daily/weekly what to keep ON my calendar 🗓️ = a record of personal / professional events and accomplishments to reflect upon and appreciate - the results were energizing!!

What methods do you use to track your progress?
Thanks so much for sharing this reflection, Dan! Highlights the variety within the "professional development" experience...
Starting the new 2025 calendar year with a question for #MedSky folks:

What is the best professional development activity you have experienced?
Why did it speak to you?
@erikbryn.bsky.social how much of this is attributable to COVID era changes (no work, WFH, reconsideration of work) now maturing?
