Consequences for himself ("I'm in danger") and for other characters. This Ralph Wiggum moment reminds me Jane Austen's EMMA, when Emma humiliates Miss Bates. The reactions of everyone around Emma (and Lisa) make these moments hurt more (which become hinge moments for the protagonist's growth later.)

Simpsons take that *might* apply to writing fiction: if the ignorant bliss of Ralph Wiggum didn't have consequences, he'd turn into an unlikeable character.

Poetry chapbooks are clearly dominating our open call, but it’s so dope when fiction comes through. Whether a novelette, a couple long stories or flash, always impressed by the economy of language. Some nonfiction as well in lesser quantities. Keep em coming!
