Indeed. I'm not a Corbyn fan, but remember his one off stint on Question Time, and Isabel Oakshott, now an immigrant in Dubai, contemptuously calling him a clown when he challenged her. I'm still shocked by that bit of gratuitous rudeness.

Approaching my 77th year I'm nearing the end of my life on our beautiful, beleaguered planet, but I found this immensely reassuring this morning. Perhaps it will recover after all when we're no longer here to destroy it with our greed and carelessness.

That's true, he's a complex character, but his determination to save Liverpool from Geoffrey Howe's policy of 'managed decline' earned him a lot of respect in that city.

After the Salisbury poisonings Farage was horrified at the idea of sanctions against Russia because 'innocent Russians would suffer'. For a man much given to commenting about British sovereignty he was surprisingly quiet about the poisoning of Litvinenko on British soil too.

Farage may be riding high in the polls now, but it's the performance of Reform councils that will sink him in 4 years time, along with his reluctance to come clean about his own finances. There's a lot more to come out about his Russian connections too.

With hindsight it's unfair that a clip of Michael Heseltine is cut into Rowan Atkinson's excellent parody. He was always one of the better Tories, hates Farage and Brexit, not to mention the Tory party's full fat fascist iteration under Johnson.

I'm due for mine + covid booster tomorrow and out of interest looked up all the jabs available on the NHS. We can now be protected from so many diseases that've been killers in my lifetime. What madness it is to refuse such blessings, while greedily stuffing ourselves with genuinely toxic fast food
