I mean, as someone who felt so old reading this: It's also just less necessary to remember phone numbers today since our phones now save the numbers of people for us.

That being said, I still remember important numbers just on the off chance I can't use my own phone for some reason.

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
