It’s 25 days until my 25th birthday. I decided to share this publicly because I believe I deserve this moment of closure now that I feel that I am safe from the main threats that have been present in my life till now. Since July this year, both my former stepmother and former stepbrother have been out of my life. Now that I’ve had distance and time to reflect, I feel ready to speak openly. My name is Rin. Yes, that Rin—whose life has often felt overshadowed by pain and chaos. To clarify: I use “former” because my father has since divorced my stepmother. My ex-stepbrother, who outed me to my family, struggled with alcoholism, and expressed harmful, trans-exclusionary views. My stepmother was verbally abusive, frequently attempting to manipulate my father into kicking me out over minor infractions. At her worst, she expressed threats of violence including murder toward both me and my dad. It was an unsafe and traumatic environment. For a long time, I minimized her behavior because she was open about her own mental health struggles. While my father has hurt me in the past, I now see much of his behavior was a response to being in an abusive relationship and not knowing how to support me during my own mental health crises. This includes threats of disowning me when I was suicidal—actions that were painful and left lasting effects. For over a decade, I lived with instability, fear, and emotional harm. My former stepmother often targeted me out of jealousy and a lack of understanding for my disabilities, weaponizing my father’s love against me. My former stepbrother’s behavior while intoxicated was terrifying, and one of his violent outbursts ultimately was the catalyst in the event that ended in the divorce. This discounts his illicit behavior towards me that has taken a toll on my mental health. I will just leave it like that, he wasn’t appropriate with me ever since I was 16 years old (he was 19). Such to the point I told my stepmom about his behaviors and she had to tell him to stop (he didn’t). His violence wasn't even exclusive to me or my biological brother, he had even physically assaulted my stepmother at one point—an event she later chose to ignore, pretending like it hadn't happened. Despite everything, a part of me still cares about my former stepmother. But I’m relieved to finally put this chapter of my life behind me. Both my father and I have been much healthier and happier since then. He’s worked on himself, and our relationship is far healthier now. At most, he’s mildly annoying (he’s still against trans people though and I’m never coming out to him as under the transgender spectrum ever, even if I was outed previously). I’m sharing this not to dwell on the past, but to say it once and leave it behind. The suffering I endured, during a period of my life in a volatile environment, the pain I endured from people like Avi, Suzy, Jace, Donnie, Hiten, Zenny, and Tomi was immense. I’ve made mistakes too—some I deeply regret—but none of that justifies the abuse I received. I recognize that in my video stories covering my experiences with the people who wronged me, I was quite harsh in comments and criticisms. Even recently, I still suffer with issues and let my anger out when I shouldn’t have to others outside of my situation. There might have been better ways I could’ve expressed myself. While I stand by my right to be angry, I will be more thoughtful and professional moving forward. To those I may have hurt in the past: I’m truly sorry. If we haven’t spoken and you feel I owe you an apology, please reach out. I won’t make excuses for the ways I may have caused harm—I take responsibility for my actions, regardless of where I was in life at the time. If closure is something you need, I want to honor that and do what I can to make things right. And lastly, I’m no longer interested in being involved in drama, gossip, or revisiting old wounds. I’ll try to evade those subjects the best I can. I aim to disengage ultimately with it in 2026 if possible on here. That is my resolution. If you’re part of those spaces or still engaged in those cycles, I kindly ask you not to follow me or include me in more online interpersonal conflicts then. I’m want to be doing art and music. So... finally there's a video out there talking about Vii Omega... and so much of the shit that he did to me. But... you know what? I'm not done. I have some thoughts specifically on the effect he had on me... as well as other shit the community did that hurt me. So expect a vent doc soon.
