I am now a person with no Meta or Musk owned social accounts. I'm hoping the move will allow me to focus more on writing off grid, but I'm happy to have this connection to the social media world.
I'm watching a guy on TV who climbed Everest and then went back down on skies... I don't have that kind of motivation

I’m resigned to say…

I’m unexcited to announce…

I’m ashamed to share….

I was a guest on Pods Against Tomorrow. Many thanks to Hugh Manon and Abe Doubleday-Bush for a fun conversation about After Dark, My Sweet.

The (pedagogical) question of how does one ethically engage AI (in the classroom) is sort of like asking how does one ethically engage child labor or burning styrofoam (in the classroom).

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

Where is the solidarity with AP?

Journalists claim to defend the freedom of the press. Yet they’re piss poor at supporting their own.

This is a test case against authoritarianism.

Every member of the White House press corps should boycott WH events in support of AP.

Then watch Trump back down

I was a department chair for 5 years, but it occurs to me recently that the entire experience will always be associated in my mind with covid-19 and being a chair during that time. Might as well have been 20 years!
