The Welsh Govt needs to take this seriously, starting by updating its obesity strategy to take account of the latest research on the impact of ultra-processed foods. We need to consider how these foods that we all consume are impacting our health.

Delighted to see the Senedd finally voted to bring in the regulations governing when Welsh public bodies must conduct Health Impact Assessments. I led on the policy work for this for @bmacymru.bsky.social when our lobbying led to it being included in the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017.

At a full council meeting in September, I outlined the Liberal Democrat approach to closing asylum hotels - the UK Govt must put in the resources to process asylum claims much more quickly. The system has become broken under both Tories and Labour. [1/2]

Hugely disappointed to see this mountain of waste being stored at the rear of 7 Clarendon Road in #penylan - I have reported this property many times before. I have asked the council to take action once again. #cardiff #libdems

I fully support the @libdems.org.uk plan to cut energy bills by at least £90 per year. 💡

People in Cardiff are facing sky-high energy bills and the UK Labour Government isn't doing enough to address this.

A privilege to once again take part in this morning's national Remembrance Sunday service in Cardiff's Cathays Park as leader of the opposition on Cardiff Council. It's important we continue to pay respect for all those who have served on our behalf. #LestWeForget

Today, I was delighted to welcome Welsh Lib Dems' leader Jane Dodds MS to officially open my campaign office for next year's Senedd election. I'm standing in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf (north & east Cardiff). We're at 20 Pantbach Road, Birchgrove, CF14 1UA. Pop along and say hello!

So deeply saddened by today's devastating events in Manchester. This is simply not the way to resolve a terrible situation. We must all try to pull together for peace and understanding.

Massive congratulations to Empire on Cardiff's Albany Road for being named 'Asian Restaurant of the Year - South Wales' which I can say from personal experience is very well-deserved. It never disappoints!

Very concerning that Cardiff's Labour-run council can't guarantee St David’s Hall can re-open in time for Cardiff Singer in 2027. This will be of great concern to @bbcwales.bsky.social & many residents. Can't understand why it's taken so long to start repairs.

If you live in Trowbridge or St Mellons in Cardiff, then here's some important advice from stopthetories.vote on who to vote for in tomorrow's council by-election ⬇️
September 17, 2025 at 9:41 PM
We've had a really good night on the doorsteps in St Mellons gaining lots of support for our great local candidate Chris Cogger who's standing for the #LibDems in the Trowbridge by-election. He offers a chance for people to elect a community champion who actually lives there.

Delighted to have campaigned with excellent local candidate Wayne Street in yesterday's Llanrumney by-election. He almost trebled the Lib Dem vote share compared to 2022. This puts us well on track to win a Senedd seat next year in the Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf constituency.

This week I supported a motion at Cardiff Council calling for our pension fund to divest from companies linked to prosecuting war crimes with specific reference to Gaza. We must do all we can to promote peace & bring this dreadful conflict to an end.

Audit Wales has concluded that Cardiff’s Labour-run Council doesn’t have comprehensive arrangements in place to assure itself it consistently secures value for money when it commissions services. That’s fairly damning!

People with disabilities in Cardiff have been badly let down by the city's four Labour MPs. This isn't what people expected when they voted in a Labour government last year.

I'm pleased Cardiff's Labour-run council has at least partly climbed down in the wake of a Cardiff Lib Dems' campaign against the abolition of the free parking period in a number of council-run car parks. They could have gone further, however.

Yet another GP surgery is closing in Cardiff. No doubt this will make it even harder for patients struggling to get GP appointments. Under Labour, the percentage of the health budget going to primary care has been repeatedly reduced. #Time4Change

This reinforces my view we need to look at the need for greater regulation of the food industry here in the UK. Food labelling can often give the impression products are much healthier than they actually are.

At today's Cardiff Council Economy & Culture Scrutiny meeting I have called for more information to be made available on the still evolving plans for the refurbishment of Pentwyn Leisure Centre as well as much better consultation with the community.

A quite frankly embarrassing performance from the GLL representative at a Cardiff Council scrutiny meeting today. Seems barely able to answer any questions from councillors asking for detail behind his presentation on his company's running of the city's leisure enters.
