We’re incredibly grateful for these invitations to share information and resources and thankful to everyone who stopped by our table.
Though we were sad to miss the International Pronouns Day Resource Fair at MCC due to illness this week, we were happy to table at Lifespan’s Caring with Pride: LGBTQ+ Caregiver Conference at The Old Farm Cafe and ISO’s Community Resource Fair for International Students at U of R last week.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Rochester LGBTQ+ Together table outside of Rainbow Cammo on Saturday. We were happy to share information and resources with attendees during the second annual Rochester Queer Arts Festival, presented by Drag Me to the Stage.
♿️👂🏻 Accessibility: Handicap accessible venue. One single person restroom located on main floor. Presented with open captions. More accessibility info at: thelittle.org/accessibility/.

HAPPENING TONIGHT: Join Rochester LGBTQ+ Together for Movie Lovers Club: Movie Night Out to see ANY OTHER WAY: THE JACKIE SHANE STORY at the ImageOut LGBTQ+ Fall Film Festival on Wednesday, October 15 at The Little Theatre 1 (in the front theatre at 240 East Ave.), 6:00pm.
The best way to learn someone’s personal pronouns is by verbally introducing yourself with your name and pronouns. (Ex. “My name is _____, and my pronouns are _____.”) You can also include your pronouns on name tags, email signatures and more!
Using incorrect pronouns can misgender someone. Also, avoid phrases like “preferred pronouns,” which suggest that other options are okay or an acceptable alternative.
Today is International Pronouns Day!

Using someone’s correct pronouns not only shows general respect, but can also affirm their gender identity. Some individuals use more than one set of pronouns, change their pronouns over time, or prefer their name used instead.

Sometimes, something truly magical happens on Rochester LGBTQ+ Together’s Rainbow Hikes. Thank you to everyone who joined us at Hamlin Beach State Park - our first group visit to this location - this past Sunday!
We have so much to say, but right now, we just need to say, “Thank you, Miss Major.” We honor her life and legacy by continuing to fight for our transgender, non-binary and gender expansive siblings, especially Black Trans women. 🏳️‍⚧️🕯️🕊️
Rochester LGBTQ+ Together joins with our LGBTQIA2S+ family - in Rochester/Monroe County, across the United States, and around the world - to mourn the passing of activist, advocate, educator, Stonewall veteran, and “mother” to so many Miss Major Griffin-Gracy.
⚠️ PROGRAM ALERT! We sincerely apologize, but we must cancel tonight’s Lesbian & Queer Women Peer Support & Discussion Group due to circumstances beyond our control. We will attempt to reschedule if we’re able.
Today and every day, we celebrate the resilience of indigenous Americans and recognize the sovereignty of Tribal Nations.
We also want to recognize and encourage you to take time to thoughtfully consider the horrors and generational harms of white supremacy - genocide, colonialism, displacement, forced assimilation, racism, and more.
On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we want to reaffirm that we value, honor and respect the cultures, history, and invaluable contributions of indigenous Americans, the original occupants of the land on which we currently live and work.
Together, with the Mohawk, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, and Tuscarora, the Seneca make up the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We pay our respects to their elders past and present.
Rochester LGBTQ+ Together wants to acknowledge that we exist and gather for programs and events on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Onöndowa’ga, or “the people of the Great Hill.” In English, they are known as Seneca people, “the keeper of the western door.”
⚠️✅ Liability Release: This program is an informal gathering of fellow hikers, nature lovers and community members. Each participant assumes personal responsibility for their safety and well-being and removes liability from the group.
