Late to the game, clearly, rewatching Arrested Development so many years later with my teen, but... Ann Veal was also Katara?!

My new secret to writing is that I don't have to write, I only have to read. Once the kids are off, I force myself to sit down with a book and begin and, so far, within a few minutes, I want to write. There is no rule about quitting. I'm actually getting very little reading done.

Haven't even listened yet but so excited to learn there's a new @nehrujackets.bsky.social record! And to read that he inspired Mamdani to get into politics!

How do people read so many great books without immediately getting lost in what is a tree, even?

I would be happy just reading lists of bird names all day.

I feel like I'm finishing multiple poems per day, but because it's what most people would call fiction, it also feels like I'm accomplishing so little. Very frequently difficult on the soul.

Sometimes there's nothing quite a gorgeous as my pup in the autumn leaves.

Feels a little too close to home.

The guy who comes in around the 4:20s playing that one note on the guitar and, even then, flubbing about half of them, makes me so happy because I was totally that guy in Rock Plaza Central.

Every morning I want to inhale the entire world but my lungs feel full and the front door seems immeasurable.

Feeling honoured, after working and reworking this stuff for years, trying to lean fully into the way my brain works and create a style that works with that, to have
@greggerkesocrates.bsky.social
accept this piece for his wonderful Socrates on the Beach.

Often thankful for the seemingly selfless and thankless work Chris Godwin has put into translating the oeuvre of Alfred Döblin. It feels insane that a writer so brilliant only had one of his other books translated into English otherwise.

Excited to share that I'll soon be sharing new work, a demonstration of my current obsession of text that works more like a painting. Coming soon from @greggerkesocrates.bsky.social's Socrates on the Beach.

Just hearing Geese for the first time and I think I'm loving it so much because it reminds me of Suckers.

Writing IS visual art.

After several decades of life and an insane spot where my hair bugs me because it flares out when it gets too long, I've only now realized my natural part is on the other side.

Is it that I'm just not convinced about the value of publishing any more, or about books, or about finishing, or is it something else?

Any of you travelled recently to Turkey? Been discussing a family vacation and it seems like everywhere in the world has a travel warning at the moment. Travelling with t(w)eens.
