I took the shot from the other side of a small river.
White-throated kingfisher. I saw her electric blue coat from a distance. #birds #wildlife #nature #singaporebirds
A juvenile swallow was standing on a sign post by the lake, waiting for his mother to bring him lunch. But another juvenile landed next to him. He felt threatened and became aggressive, chasing the newcomer away. (Picture taken in June 2024) #swallows #birds #wildlife #nature
Very lucky to find a night heron.
I found this juvenile swallow standing on a pole by the lake, waiting for his mother to bring him catches. He was offended that I refused to leave him alone, and couldn’t miss his lunch by flying away, therefore he had this defensive and annoyed looking.(Jun 2024) #swallows #birds #nature #wildlife
Two swallows. The blue back is a juvenile. Pictures taken in June 2024. #swallows #birds #singapore #wildlife

Saw this monkey at Bukit Timah hilltop. #monkeys #animals #wildlife
Another colugo I run into yesterday. It hung on its hook like claws to the tree, with the membrane between front and back limbs clearly visible. #colugo #animals #wildlife
Colugo,or flying lemur, is tree dwelling mammal who can glide between tree branches. I am very lucky to find this Colugo mother clinging to the tree, with her baby peering out from her belly. #colugo #animals #wildlife

The brown shrike is migratory. This clip was recorded in mid April. By now, the shrikes shall have moved north.
I was recording a clip of two yellow-vented bulbuls on a branch, when a larger bird boldly flew into the frame, and the two bulbuls gave up this position. I wondered why the bulbuls were so scared, and found that the larger bird is a brown shrike, aka butcher bird.
Such a graceful bird
