Lovely mood to this shot
Thanks so much, hope to make it to one of your exhibitions in the future, I’m London based too. Good to meet you also
Hello and thanks for the follow, I’m new here too.
Thanks Neil, I love b&w too but usually approach taking a photograph knowing it I’m going to have it like that from the start. This one is an exception. I was at a spot where I set up to photograph a kingfisher (in colour), it was a happy accident to see the heron. I changed this one to b&w in post.
I like the toning on this one, particularly effective.
Really nicely captured image
Not a lot to dislike there. Nicely done
Thanks Bill, hope to see you around
Wow, high praise indeed. Thanks so much. I’m new here on Bluesky so it nice to see that posting images is still meaningful in a way that is isn’t so much on other platforms.
Thanks very much, glad it’s of interest
“Watching & Waiting”

A Herron standing stock still at dusk, an unusual and near silent moment on the banks of the Ravensbourne river in south London.

Thanks Russ, there is some circular motion in the image also but lots of the distortion comes from a stack of lens elements widening the image enormously. The black around the edges is the inside of the lens tube.
Thanks Konrad, I now have a lens which is very unpredictable to use but it does produce some nice images (at least to my eye) under the right conditions.
Very nice, I like to capture light through stained glass also. bsky.app/profile/robi...

An opportunity to see work from a talented photographer with a very original approach.
Excited to have "Ashurst 22" on display at the Guildford House Open exhibition from November 22nd to February 28th 2026. #guildford #surrey #photography #newforest
Nice, hope it goes well for you Konrad
Weeping Willow - Growing on the banks of Rae brook in Shropshire.

Photograph made using a self modified lens

The optical distortions are due to the modifications made to the elements within the lens which I used to take it with.

That’s a very sobering image, well captured. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, that’s very kind

“Calf”

Black and white photograph (admittedly mostly black) of a curious calf that took an interest in me and my camera.
