“If Schumer really wanted to use his considerable influence and leverage to stop this, he could have done that,” a senior Democratic Senate aide tells Zeteo. “He didn’t.”
Furious Liberals Call for Schumer to Step Aside, Senate Dems Mostly Quiet
After their shutdown surrender, liberal lawmakers are begging their base to unite behind them anyway – as Trumpland celebrates that their opposition is a bunch of 'p*ssies.'

INGRAHAM: “Where's that💰 coming from?”

TRUMP: “I don't know. I'll get it from someplace. I always get it from someplace.”

He’s sending air traffic controllers who stayed a $10K bonus after threatening to take money from those who didn’t.

There’s always💰when it’s convenient.

🚨 💰 WOW — @SenatorHagerty & @MarshaBlackburn snuck a provision into the spending bill that would let them sue the government for $500,000 because Jack Smith looked into their phone records around Trump’s insurrection.

The Republican grifting is endless. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

Update: this is no longer included in the final funding deal. I'm going to keep fighting to lower premiums and ensure Republicans can’t get away with a backdoor national abortion ban.
Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

Last night, tragically, 8 Democrats caved.

But the struggle continues.

Short term, we must not allow health care premiums to double for more than 20 million Americans.

Long term, we must provide health care to all as a human right.

After his reception at the Commanders' game yesterday, I am sure he is deeply in need of some adulation.
Sergio Gor: "Mr president, this an an honor of a lifetime. I want to thank, first, you. What you have done for this country- before you came back in, the trouble this country was facing. Frankly, we were screwed. What you have achieved in 10 months has been historic, surpassed any other presidency"

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Will you call for Schumer to step down as minority leader?
I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

The American people clearly understand the stakes and the urgency. We must too.

I'm voting no.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.
