Risk management is common sense: reduce harm while ensuring benefits.
Regulators prefer no clear policy guidance document because vague ambiguity can be convenient for some decisions.
We need a White Paper on Risk Management for common sense policy.

Industry and science institutes need to push EU officials to establish a guidance document - a white paper - on risk management.
If not, my latest argues, no EU policy will be workable. An EU Ultra-Processed Food Directive would ban all packaged foods.

If the EU Commission uses its understanding of risk management in a hazard-based #UltraProcessedFood Directive, any food that's packaged will have to be banned.

If a court awards a plaintiff $2 million, the lenders step in and take $1 million.

Activists and journalists have a distortion playbook they use to destroy trust in science and generate fear and outrage.
They take a responsible and precise answer from a scientist and manipulate it. Monsanto, Exxon, now Tylenol. This tactic never gets old.

EFSA ripped into the poor methodology, unreliable results and background contamination of most studies into microplastic and nanoplastic exposures.

EFSA published a literature review on studies claiming exposures to #microplastics and #nanoplastics.
They concluded most studies had poor methodologies, over-estimated findings and lab contaminations making any conclusions unreliable.

How many times have we heard: "We're raising taxes on tobacco to pay the increased health costs for smokers".
If that's the case, don't tax e-cigarettes since they reduce health costs.
Maybe that's why regulators pretend vapes have health risks.

Prohibition tells us if your regulations are unreasonable, people break the law. We're Al-Caponizing the vaping trade, denying rational options and unable to control quality.

The WHO keeps saying they welcome inputs on lived experiences of NCDs.
But if vapers want to tell the story of how tobacco harm reduction products allowed them to stop smoking, the WHO censors them.

They think if they ban a substance like nicotine to "protect the children", there is no further need to regulate or control its use.

Addiction experts want you to believe addiction is bad and must be controlled.
What if an addiction wasn't harmful?
What if one addictive habit was far less harmful than another?
Banning nicotine because it's addictive while not banning caffeine is #vapocrisy.
