60-87% (McGuire et al., 2006) of nurses experience some form of sexual harrasment, with 71% of it stemming from patients (Frellick, 2018).

Nursing is almost entirely dominated by women. Women I've had the privilege to work alongside with & learn from. /2

Gonna be visiting Lola Siempre at her final resting place today.

She basically raised me while my parents were working hard to provide. It was her that instilled the values & morals that I hold with conviction to this day.

She was far from perfect. But she taught me how to love.

Healthcare isn't providers telling you what to do. At least, that's not how it's supposed to be anymore. It's about collaborating with you in order to achieve the best, realistic goals that you set & want. But for that to happen, you need to work with us. /4 ➡️

Not just from the healthcare provider standpoint but for our patients as well. People have lives to live & loved ones to see. We have a duty to that so people can have the best quality of life they can attain.

But patients are also responsible in communicating as well. /3 ➡️

Even then, providers in the same org won't always know what's going on with you.

As much as we try our best, info can fall through the cracks. The chain of communication is linked by people. People make mistakes, which, unfortunately, can waste time, resources, & effort. /2 ➡️

You know how important communication is in healthcare?

It can make or break it. In the US, there is no centralized database of where patients go, who they saw, or what care they received. It's all made of these different entities with their own information & records. /1 ➡️

They look so cute!! I have a bunch of stickers I got during cons, but not a whole lot of places I can stick them. Most of the time, I slap em on my office furniture to display how much of a nerd I am whenever I need to be on live camera for something.

The fact that the regional Senior VP of our company who is in charge of hundreds of clinics, has no clinical background & only has an MBA blows my goddamn mind.

Shouldn't it be healthcare providers be the ones in charge of healthcare companies? Or am I wrong in that assumption?

Highlight of my night

Mousey watched the "Music Box of Fate" Community Charity Cover during her stream. I was honored to help, even if it was for the smallest of parts in the choir.
