I've noticed similar big difference between parkrun demographics of inner London and range of Kent towns, like TunbridgeWells, Tonbridge, etc. But I guess it's not that surprising!

I expect they will aim to promote dissension within parkrun community (cf some of the comments on FB in response to CEO appointment today... )

I think/hope parkrun will continue to be v clear that protecting its values, notably inclusivity, are the top priority....

Key point: unlike typical competitive sport parkrun can - if needs must - make further tweaks eg as to results type info it produces/published, so that becomes even less like competitive sport/event.

So, I don't see how any legal ruling could force parkrun to police gender categories?

In olden times, (ie my childhood) they went overboard with sound effects of beer drinking at The Bull. Enormously prolonged slurp. Followed by a lengthy exhale / sigh and "Nice drop of bitter, Sid."

Interesting development! I wonder whether really big one off international turnouts help the locals grow the regular events on the ground?

I guess sometimes they might, eg if they help to generate local publicity & interest...
