In Nazi Germany you could be denounced if you said anything against the Führer...or even if you didn't, & they just didn't like you. Kids denounced their parents, who were taken away and executed, usually by Guillotine. The Nazis beheaded 16,500, just short of the 17,000 in the French Revolution.
