Breathing autumn air, sipping coffee with toast, writing.
Good morning, all
Finished drafting a novel chapter. One to go, maybe 3,000 more words.
And now, back to grading and report cards.

About to watch my wife play the role of a sleazy, criminal aunt, and very excited.
Here's to community theatre.
Six more essays to grade in this stack.
Once more unto the breach, dear friends.
Dunno if it's online - "'The Theban Plays' by Sophocles" is his title. My edition is 1992 from the boxed hardcover set, but I assume the paperback Volume II Sophocles would have the essay, too. Earlier U of Chicago editions might not, as they didn't include the Grene translations of the whole cycle.
I've been rereading those, as chance would have it. David Grene's essay introducing his translations is interesting; among other things, he focuses on the parallels between the Creon of Antigone and the Oedipus of Rex, and Sophocles's developing themes over his career.
I did not recall that instance of the word, but in my defense, Falstaff did not yeet one.
Pizzle!
I don't know that I've ever read or heard that word except for when Arabella threw a pig's at Jude the Obscure.
It is dress like a teacher day at school.
My child is wearing my tweed.
Touched my eye after dicing a jalapeno. How's your Monday going?
You post some creepy images, but for me, that one wins.
...could you do it in character as Merily Oberlan, or would that run counter to the camp's mission?
I did not finish the chapter, which will be longer than I projected, but I did add 800 words. A productive day.
Writing on this early autumn morning after a too long layoff. Hoping to dash off the last 700 or so words of this chapter draft before other duties call.
Good morning, all.
Teaching duties are occupying most of my time these days, but I'm still pecking at the novel. Two hundred words here, a hundred there.

September Sunday walk by the lake. It was a pleasant afternoon.
They have not, though behind the scenes they have inspired many words.

Excellent piece. Congrats!
Having been a Western Pennsylvanian teenager in the era of the never-closing Eat n Park, I feel the loss of public spaces at night.
"I Can't Give Everything Away" gets me every time.
First Friday of the school year.
Beer and writing.
Cheers.
Kate's great in it, but... The Lion in Winter? Bringing Up Baby?
And Juror #8 will always be my Fonda.
Love it and looking forward to rewatching soon.
