I studied Math/Physics in undergrad, worked in data/coding stuff for a while, then started picking up math books again. And now, here I am! Something to do and get me out of the house while I look for a job

Turns out I did a bit of a backwards order when I was reading a book on smooth manifolds, when I should’ve worked through topological manifolds first. Least it’s helping my understanding and motivation for this stuff now

I’ve been auditing a grad-level topology class and it’s been a ton of fun! Nice to be in a school setting again with motivated people, and it’s really cool subject matter

It does! Generally just have it on only a few moments for pictures, but if it’s a windy summit it definitely makes the photo process a lot more comfy

People wear em skiing and at winter events all the time and they’re very comfy then

Abernathy Peak, Eastern Cascades are a totally different character!

There’s a list called the Bulgers and I‘ll think I’ll make it my next project. Some peaks are easier walk ups, others I’ll have to climb rock and glacier with other folks. Abernathy along with the 5 volcanoes makes 6/100!

And on a lighter side, a lot of critter friends on the trail! Met a lot of marmots, pipits, and ptarmigans

I especially admire the pipits, had no idea those little dudes could live up at 10k!
