TWO things that happened today:

1. Taught a couples culinary class: mustard pork loin, quinoa stuffed acorn squash, and apple bread pudding with ice cream and caramel.

2. Drove home in silence.

THREE things I’m grateful for:

1. Taylor

2. Noah and the Whale

3. Repeat Customers

I suppose most people know this already. I've known this for a long time, but I constantly need to remind myself. Today is one of those days. It probably doesn't help that I've been reading romantasy books for the past six months solid.” 8/
This makes it more like imagination than visualization. But if we visualize being the 'greenest flag' -- a person ready and capable of the best loving partnership... I believe that's something we can picture and achieve. It's an external versus an internal goal. 7/
Now, there are some forms of 'magical thinking' that I should be doing more of. If you were to create a 'vision board' and put, 'have a relationship with *blank*' that is magical. You have no control over *blank* and what's more, you probably don't know as much about them as you think you do. 6/
But my audiobook desperation may be a sign that I need to stop obsessing. But, looking for signs is a kind of magical thinking, and that's something I'm trying to get away from. 5/
I've come to rely on audiobooks as I spend no less than two hours of each day traveling in my car and I'm desperate for the company. Add to that, reading these books is currently my best connection to my crush, as we're reading these books together. 4/
I'm on chapter 44 of 'A Court of Wings and Ruin' and I'll need to wait until next Friday in order to purchase more hours on top of my extra audiobook subscription. I must continue this story. 3/
I mention this mostly because I wish I'd known that paying extra doesn't really seem to get you to the end of a book, I'm running out of listening time at around the same point in the month as I did before paying extra. 2/
This is my 1,2,3 Journal.

It starts with a journal entry that’s ONE word more than the day before (Day 327 = 327 Words):

“I keep burning through my Spotify audiobook subscription. I've yet to finish a book on this program, even though I'm paying extra each month for access. 1/

TWO things that happened today:

1. Almost got denied coffee on the way in due to my account.

2. Ate mostly cookies I demonstrated today.

THREE things I’m grateful for:

1. Leftovers

2. Gift Cards

3. “The Black Cauldron”

5. Microwave 40–50 seconds on high. The center should still look slightly soft, but outside should look dry. 6. Let rest 30 seconds. Eat with caramel sauce, ice cream, or whipped cream. Please go forth and eat some cake... courtesy of my class that ran short.” 8/
DIRECTIONS: 1. Grease a mug lightly with butter. 2. Melt butter and chocolate together in the mug (30 seconds). Stir until smooth. 3. Whisk in sugar and egg with a fork until combined. 4. Add flour, salt and coffee powder, and mix until smooth. 7/
RECIPE: 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips, 1 ½ tablespoons sugar, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon flour, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon espresso powder (or instant coffee). 6/
The first class went well, but I came up a bit short on timing, so we played hangman. 'Grapefruit' was the stumper. The second group was more than a half an hour short, and so on the fly I also taught them all how to make a Microwave Chocolate Lava Cake. 5/
I like teaching kids, but I think my boss was a little reluctant to have me teach children at first -- not for any other reason than most of the staff are former or current school teachers and have children. I have/am neither. 4/
On the way in I discovered that there is exactly $0 in my bank account. I thought there was at least $200. I still haven't learned if this was malice or my own miscalculation. Today's classes were two rounds of teaching children how to make cookies. 3/
I'm super desperate for money these days, and right now this is the only reliable source of income I have, so I'm maxing it out. I just hope I don't burn myself out. I got out of there at 9:30 last night, and got in at 9:30 AM. 2/
This is my 1,2,3 Journal.

It starts with a journal entry that’s ONE word more than the day before (Day 326 = 326 Words):

“This week I'm working at the culinary event space I sometimes do shifts at... for four days in a row. 1/
TWO things that happened today:

1. Watched MIOs legs in golden hour sunlight.

2. Burned a student’s pastry.

THREE things I’m grateful for:

1. pizza

2. gyms

3. quiet time

Every time I've done this course somebody has brought me a gift at the last class. This absolutely feels like a good reason to continue teaching it. Next round starts in two weeks.” 8/
There were some hiccups with the ovens, and we were a bit more messy than I'd like, but for whatever reason, people still seemed to have a good time. That made all the difference. One couple even gave me a gift of maple mustard. 7/
because you get to see their kitchen dynamic, and that is very fascinating. The last class is almost always a bit of a whirlwind because I have the students to pick what it is we're going to learn. 6/
