Migrated here from Post. Coffee, chocolate, taking pictures, walking/hiking, tennis, gardening, puttering about the house & spending time with my 2 pups, are for me but some of life’s simple pleasures. Unless otherwise noted, pictures are my own.

Very much like I would eat an apple. Even my pups love them (in small portions). Do you have them where you are?

Hi Sam. When I clicked on the link it took me to YouTube, but said that the video was unavailable 😕

I’m looking forward to persimmon season myself 😋

They really are. I indulged by getting 3 of them. One to eat there and two to bring home with me (one each of salted caramel, peanut butter & mocha). I could not resist.

I’ve never had a butter tart before. Will have to be on the lookout now.

They’re decadently delicious 😋
How was your return to school today?

Disregard my previous message asking about your weather.

The rain was delayed in getting here, but now we’re getting a good soaking. In fact, I already filled 3-55 gal containers with rain water… and counting.

Did you get any rain where you are?

Then you can have 2 dogs waking you up at ungodly hours of the morning wanting you to take them for a walk in the freezing cold 🙃 But seriously, it sounds like a great idea! Are you thinking of getting the same breed as Finn?

Even though this one is almost entirely grey, when I click on it, I can see the entire picture.

Thank you, Jeanne! 🙏🏻
How is your day going?

Yes, but as MizKitty said, if I click on the grey squares I can then see the pictures.

It’s the ‘Last Hurrah’ for dahlias at Manito Park. They’ll be harvesting the roots soon to store for next year.

Just now starting to get rain in San Jose.

Wow! I saw them in Hawaii, but never on the mainland.

An artifact from a bygone era. Great selection for this week’s theme, Buddy! 🙌🏻

But in the case of this Harlequin Duck that I saw in Canada, I didn’t even realize it was a lifer until I reviewed my pictures later. And what a pleasant surprise that was.

I go through phases with my birding where my interest in it waxes & wanes over time. When it comes to getting a picture of a lifer though, if I know that I’m seeing one, my first objective is to not so much get a pretty picture, but to get one that’s good enough just to make a positive ID.

I saw one new lifer on my recent trip to Vancouver Island: a Harlequin Duck, but I have yet to post a picture of it here. I don’t do very much birding anymore so that was my first new lifer in about a year.
