Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

Because it is illegal
Leavitt: "The president tapped into tariff revenue to keep WIC money going out the door. He found a creative solution to keep the troops paid. And rather than congratulate him for doing that, this unprecedented action to get our troops paid, Dems want to sue him for it. They're saying it's illegal."

Hochul: "They promised to extract revenge on their political enemies & apparently any state that has a D gov. Tell me how Florida & Texas could receive these same funds w/o having to go to court? They're playing politics, but more than that, they're playing with people's lives. And that's abhorrent"

Reminder that any political party trying to make it harder to vote is sending a clear message: they can't win on their ideas alone.

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

No one in the GOP Hitler chat was a "kid," JD Vance. We checked.

By scanning public records and media reports, Mother Jones determined the ages of eight of the 11 participants in the abhorrent leaked texts from young Republicans that Politico covered on Tuesday: They appear to range from 24 to 35.

It really is bizarre to me that every single member of GOP House leadership & the admin has decided their coordinated talking point this week is that the No Kings demonstrations this Sat are essentially acts of domestic terrorism. Are they that afraid of free & peaceful assembly?

Every Friday for the past 19 years, a group of Catholics has prayed the rosary outside an ICE detention facility in Illinois, having largely cordial interactions with the agents. But ICE’s demeanor began to change earlier this year, then shifted dramatically roughly two months ago.

When the procession arrived to distribute Communion, the response from ICE was an “unequivocal no, with no reason or justification,” Michael Okinczyc-Cruz said. “They denied our invitation to bring Christ into the detention center.”

ICE turned away the body of Christ. Catholics must keep showing up anyway.
(RNS) — Catholics processed in prayer had hoped to send eight people into a Chicago-area ICE facility to distribute Holy Communion.

This is not about saving democracy. It is about protecting our people. On October 18, we rise. Not to defend broken systems, but to defend each other. Because our communities deserve more than fear, silence, and billion-dollar bailouts for the powerful.

No Thrones. #NoKings
