Sheikh Al-Hijeri began using "Jabal Shaban" instead of Suwayda. In short, Shaban is the name used in the Hebrew Bible, in Torah and Tenakh, for what is now all of southern #Syria, with 3 governorates: Quneitra, Daraa, #Suwayda and a part of Jordan and Lebanon.

Hij en zijn mannen worden gesteund door Israël, via de pro Netanyahu Druzische Sheikh daar, Mowafaq Tarif, Israël betaalt bijv het salaris van 3000 zijn militieleden, waaronder veel oud Assad regime officieren.

Dat gezegd hebbende, veel Druzen vertouwen, zeer begrijpelijk, Damascus niet meer.

Dat is wat iedereen zich afvraagt, inclusief Muwahhideen Druzen.
Het betekent iig dat
1/ hij de oude naam uit de Torah gebruikt, van ver voor het jaar nul, (Muw. Druzen arriveerden in Suwayda vanuit Libanon in de 18e eeuw)
2/ Syriërs zich afvragen of Netanyahu na Gaza zuid Syrië wil gaan pakken.

First of all, I want to thank all the Syrians who took the time to answer my questions and showed me their hospitality esp. in places where there are no hotels.

I don't even remember what these are called below, but they were amazing, from Lattakiya.

Left the oven, just got back in the fridge.

3.5 weeks in Syria. From Azaz, Afrin to Nubl, Aleppo, Al-Tah (Idlib), N Hama, Homs, E Daraa, W Suwayda, Jaramana, Damascus, Homs again, Wadi Nasara, and Afrin again. What a journey. What a treasure trove of profound conversations.
