Today I finalized most of my travel until April, and looks like I’ll be having an awesome father-and-son roadtrip season ahead of me with Roan. This is a good reminder I'm in a bubble. I see a nice looking WooCommerce theme, I check out the demo and then I see the Lighthouse scores 😭.

Look, it don't have to be a perfect 100 everywhere, but 90 should be your minimal goal everywhere. Certainly for a demo...

Got an awesome father and son roadtrip season ahead with @roandevries. We'll be traveling to #CloudFest (Germany), #PressConf (from NYC to PHX), and then #CheckoutSummit in Sicily...

And that's just until April. We got #WCEU in Kraków, Poland in June as well.

Moved 2 clients this week off of Mailchimp to Omnisend and both couldn't be happier. And when I say "moved", I mean taken advantage of Omnisend wonderful migration service for the flows, automations & campaigns.

It's a no brainer, really. Time reevaluate your clients on Mailchimp, like right now.

There's nothing like testing your how smooth your backup and restore plans are than being forced to use them 30 minutes right before you go to bed.

I underestimated how hard it would be to build my first course.
Delays. Overwhelm. Lessons the hard way.

I wrote it all down, if you’re building a big course (or thinking about it), read this first: remkusdevries.com/lessons-lea...
Lessons Learned, Course Building Edition
Over the years I’ve built plenty of courses in various forms, but they’ve all been quite small. More like tutorials with some screencasts. Building Make WordPress Fast, the first full course I’ve ever launched, and probably the most ambitious solo thing I’ve attempted in a while, has already taught me plenty. If you’ve ever thought […]

Apple's AI offering to translate my messages with my kids, wife, and parents has to be the poorest implementation fail of AI I've seen so far.

Someone asked me to give me a TL;DR of what my Make WordPress Fast course is about as it contains 25 modules.

My best answer was this: "It's about the philosophy of performance. How to build fast for every single layer, and not just fix slow."

We’ve been radio silent for months... and yeah, there was good reason for that.

We ripped Scanfully’s entire database design apart and rebuilt it from scratch for bigger sites and bulletproof security.

Full database rewrite. Zero glamour. All muscle.
