I implemented the first #Achievement for my stream! It's a limited-time recognition for early participants in my game, Comrade Connections! Type "!groundfloor" in chat when I'm live. Available through October! #Twitch #MMORPG

I'm live for some #coworking! Today I'm working on quests - when someone returns from one, they'll collect resources for the community! Next steps will be personal rewards.

I may also work on pronoun preferences to personalize the game experience.

We opened up the windows to help the fire extinguisher haze dissipate. I love the fresh air. It’s a beautiful night out. It would be nice to camp outside.

I was drifting off to sleep tonight, but a commotion jolted me back awake.

Some guy grabbed a fire extinguisher off the wall and sprayed a sleeping person in the face with it.

Very tense moments ensued as people confronted the guy. A little fist fighting. Police arrested him. No staff. No rules.

I spent today developing a way to serialize the game’s state and save it to the database, so now I can restart the server as needed while streaming.

This should help me with testing, so not every aspect of the game needs to have its own database collection.

I took a nap today for the first time in almost 10 months. The workspace was deserted so I curled up on a couch for 20 minutes. It was nice to lie down, close my eyes for a bit, and feel safe doing so.

Will stream tomorrow. I tried to fully redesign my production but I need to keep it incremental.

10 PM. Trying to sleep in a room w/ 50 other men. Bunkmate is talking to himself and singing the national anthem. Construction crew outside tearing the street up with a jackhammer. The $10 a day I get in food assistance may be gone next month.

This is violence. I’m tired of being passive about it.

I've been making a lot of progress on setting up my stream for #coworking! Today I'm trying to finish some of the automations in StreamerBot, then working on a spam-resistant follow notification.

Maybe art later!?! I've really gotta redesign my UI.

Good to hear! Me too! My insurance didn’t want to cover my COVID vaccine at first but the pharmacist made some calls and got it authorized. I feel a lot better knowing I’ve got some increased protection against it and the flu.

Quests are fully functioning in my #MMORPG on #Twitch! At least I think they are - come help me test them! Ground Floor Achievement still available.

It was nice to play MTG yesterday; gonna start stream with it again. Then maybe some coworking? The auto-shoutout feature is working well, next I'll be improving the Quest feature with database persistence. Rewards (and player inventories to hold them in) soon!

Yesterday a chatter helped me identify an issue with achievements; I spent all of today trying to fix it, including renaming existing document fields in #MongoDB with a migration script. I think I barely got it working as I had to leave the office. Should be a stream early tomorrow - see ya then!
