Exactly. It was the correct decision, the rule is useless though. Apart from that I remember him being a top ref tbh...

Problem is, it was the correct decision (for UEFA). It wouldn't have been given by the same people in the PL, but EUFA have different standards to the PL.
I don't know if it's changed, but at the time if the ball hit the arm, regardless of other factors, pen. PL take into account deflections etc.

No dissrespect to Forest. A Forest fan in the same situation would do exactly the same. But he's a good honest pro, so I also can't see him pushing for a move.
Next summer, with Joelinton ageing, I can see an approach though.

TBF he was sold because he was the only saleable asset that would avoid us a 10 point deduction. No-one wanted to sell him and he didn't want to leave.
No doubt it's been excellent for his career, but if he's told he would play at NUFC there's no doubt he would want it.
