🌩️ Unbelievable! The talented & warm-hearted #sewist @duckgoesoink has just been suspended—flagged as spammy, fake, or inauthentic. The most shocking part? A moderator reviewed and confirmed it. Automated or human—what the heck, @bsky.app? This is dampening my enthusiasm for this platform! #sewsky

📌I stumbled across this mind-blowing online archive of "La Femme de France", a French weekly fashion magazine that ran from 1915–26. It can be consulted on the BNF (National Library of France)🔗⬇️ The most exciting part: I spotted many #MinimalWasteDesign patterns! #fashionhistory #garmentsewing

This book just arrived and my mind is blown 🤯 🤩

It’s a French-language book about #zeroWaste #garmentSewing by @reformonsnous.com, and I love everything about it: the colors, the diverse models, the designs, the cutting layouts, the wordplay…

Will take it slowly and start planning my first piece!

Did I write a book mostly for myself to fill the gap in my wardrobe? Maybe... 👀😆 I just wanted to create pieces that truly fit my style, comfort, and needs—while reducing cutting waste as much as possible.
You’d have done the same, right?

My BF usually sews bike gear. For EOTY he decided to make his first-ever Tshirt using the diy book I just published. I feared he’d hate the experience and say my book is shit..
Spoiler: He said it might make a second version. We can marry now

"👀 Check out @verdigrissewing.bsky.social's stunning quilt made from second-hand shirts & scraps! 🎙️'As you can probably picture well, when you cut open men's sleeves, you get these beautiful curves at the shoulder ends & large wedges since they're tapered. That was the starting point!' #sewsky
I want to give this a try. Hopefully we can create the same kind of supportive & inspiring community that we have on IG but without supporting spineless billionaires. Here's a collection of my work to kick things off!

Can’t quite believe it’s been 6 years since I released my 1st #zerowastepattern under the indie name MILAN AV-JC. This wrap dress still feels really special to me.
⬇️The pattern is available for free here. Ideal for beginners!

🔍 #UN Call for #ZeroWaste Good Practices in Fashion & Textiles—interesting, but out of reach for most initiatives I know locally. Too bad! Even the impactful projects I’ve led in collaboration with major French manufacturers don’t seem to fit the criteria. #zerowastefashion #sustainablefashion
Do you have a zero-waste practice in fashion and textiles that’s making a real impact?

We’re seeking approaches that deliver positive zero-waste outcomes to highlight on #ZeroWasteDay 2025.

It's fascinating how #minimalwastedesign has been a part of fashion history for so long. I came across this Infinite Gore skirt design in the book Elizabethan Costuming (1550-1580). Just look at how much less fabric it uses compared to conventional gore skirts #sewing #garmentsewing #fashionhistory

@pinandstitch.bsky.social 's grandmother's sewing notebook inspires me to celebrate the most cherished legacy I have from my grandmother, Adèle—her sewing diploma. Feeling nostalgic about the time we spent knitting together 🕊🧶

🎙"Prioritizing a wider size range and creating wearable garments is more important than rigidly adhering to using the entire fabric width. A garment that doesn’t fit or isn’t worn ultimately creates more waste"💯 aligned with @goldfinch.design’s thoughtful approach—check out her excellent blog 👇

After two weeks of emotional paralysis, I’m finally opening up this Bluesky account. What better motivation than seeing a few peers who’ve already taken the leap? It was @goldfinch.design presence that ultimately convinced me there are some great connections & sewing content to build up here as well
