I unlocked a banner from having enough folks join the channel. It's literally the YouTube version of a Twitch sub except I can set the pricing. If you've got a dollar or five to kick my way, jump in!

On this Indigenous Peoples Day, Fruities would like to share about the indigenous concept of "two-spirit" and highlight indigenous members of our team! Today is a great day to support indigenous business, read stories from indigenous people, and engage with indigenous content creators.
Information poster with text:
Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day
Indigenous Peoples' Day is a holiday in the United States that celebrates and honors Indigenous people and commemorates their histories and cultures.
Indigenous people and LGBTQ+ history
Historically, LGBTQ+ Native Americans used terms for gender-related social roles unique to their specific tribe and tribal language. For many tribes, people were historically defined more by their roles in relation to their partner and their tribe, and viewing people as simply male or female was an idea first introduced by colonists.
Two-spirit is an English term that emerged in 1990 to describe Indigenous North Americans who fulfill one of many mixed gender roles found traditionally among indgenous groups. Male and female Two-Spirits have been documented in over 130 tribes, in every region of North America.
Two-Spirits have had distinct gender and social roles in their tribes.
They could have been:
Healers
Special role players in sundance or other ceremonies
Medicine persons
Convyers of oral traiditions
Name givers
Caregivers for orphaned children

Did a little late night stream and finally got through P3. I'm tired.

🤣🤣 my community is convinced both have been calling to me like the green goblin mask.

It started out as a bit, but I mentioned when I reach 5000 YouTube subscribers I'll break out the cringe fedora. Maybe even a dragon button up shirt.

Welp. I'm sitting at 4195 and that's starting to approach pretty quick 😅😅😅

One of the fun things about YouTube is I identified things that work for me, so I have a lot of freedom to experiment. If a game or stream time doesn't do well initially, it's no big deal.

My Hollow Knight streams initially did like 600 views and now average 10k to 20k.

Vertical YouTube and full screen Twitch is a pretty popular way to do it. Gives folks options.
refereeclark.bsky.social
Nah I'm waiting on YouTube to finish rolling out the dual stream update. I feel like until you get some momentum it cannibalizes your viewership.
refereeclark.bsky.social
For awhile I did gameplay on top and camera on the bottom but people kind of like the gameplay in the middle setup.

It's funny that when I first started doing vertical streams, I thought it'd be a slow burn unless you were playing something like Fortnite or Minecraft. Dusting off a few backlog games with dedicated fan bases was the move.

Day 5 of our FWF questions and today's bonus question for bluesky folks goes to @refereeclark.bsky.social

Clark, what's the most beautiful thing in nature you have experienced? Where do you plan on travelling to next?

I always reiterate that a lot of what I've learned from pro wrestling also applies to content creation.
