One of the world’s most famous mangaka, Hirohiko Araki, so wonderfully explains the concerns of artists around the globe concerning GenAi.

From the high potential of cons, and scams, to the painful reality that GenAi models are built by taking the work of artists without consent.

Hirohiko Araki’s take on Generative Ai. It discusses his concerns over GenAi’s ability to scam people. His own shock at seeing GenAi imagery look like his own work. And his concerns over copyright issues. He also discusses the needs for regulation, but worries on this and states the following:

“having some kind of laws would probably be the only way to regulate this. However, because we’re dealing with a world of con artists, there’s a very real possibility that laws favoring them will appear before we know it.”
