It's fascinating ( to me) that many of the things you described maybe linked. Afferent C fibers ( dysfunction/ damage) is responsible for the affective -emotive aspect of touch.

The flip side of allodynia is capacity for touch causing human pleasure- bonding. Or frission.

That sounds awful.

I've had peripheral and small fiber neuropathy for 22 years.
I understand allodynia from that. ( In that it requires a very very deep listening assume nothing)
or feeling skinless.

From my condition I know peripheral areas are worse.

It was They Fly at Ciron. ( Which is an over padded short story) .
