“Living car-free is the most impactful behavior by far in terms of reducing emissions.”

🚲🥗🚗 Small choices matter, but big change happens when systems support them.

WRI Climate ranked 19 climate-friendly behaviors to show which ones cut the most emissions and why policies & businesses must make them accessible.

I very much dislike the few weeks of the year where Australia and The Netherlands are BOTH in daylight savings time. Makes my meetings super awkwardly timed..

Stupidly I seem to have picked "my city" as the thing. Not sure I'd recommend.. (definitely not to eat, tbh)

Oops, forgot the link: bicyclensw.org.au/ride-to-work...
Would be so cool to have huge numbers on Wednesday, all across the country. It would be great to prove to a lot of people what a viable method of transportation this is. And also prove that we need better infrastructure.
Ride to Work Day is coming up!
National Ride To Work Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of commuter riding. It’s an opportunity to encourage new riders to try riding to work.

Oh neat, my bike bus is advertised on the @bicyclensw.bsky.social site for National Ride to Work day this week. I think we might actually crack double digits in terms of attendee numbers, which hasn't happened since we made a big deal of dragging our MP along with us last year.

Those poor extended family in-laws I met yesterday.. they were expecting a sympathetic ear and not a rant about the benefits of trains, trams and bicycles.

OK I think I am just no fun at family gatherings. When the conversation inevitably turns to complaining about the traffic on the way to/from the gathering, and the person talking to me suggests "they really need to widen X road", I just can't bring myself, I have to vehemently disagree.
A comic strip with two panels. The top panel has a two lane road with cars stuck in traffic, bumper to bumper. There is a speech bubble coming from one driver with the text "Can't wait for the road to be widened".
In the second panel there is a three lane road with cars completely stuck in traffic, bumper to bumper. The same driver has a speech bubble with the text "finally!"

We're told the online age verification codes will prevent young people from seeing sexual or violent content but it's simply not true. Those searching in a logged out state can still search for this content.

Companies are going to be age checking all of us for nothing!

Reunited with the little fuzzball, and she seems very pleased to see us. Non stop purring and following us around the house ❤️

I feel a bit like I'm just too old and tired for the constant online presence in the lives of my peers..
rebeccafernandez.bsky.social
Yeah, it all gets a bit confusing. And I use this less than I used twitter..

Ohhh no. They are very pretty, at least.

Omg sorry, i only just saw this. Sorry, hectic time away from my computer. These look great though!

I was not fishing for validation, just trying to see if anyone shared that worry. So I was genuinely surprised and touched by that reaction to sharing my fear.

My favourite thing was surprisingly the remote workers round table. Where I shared that I felt worried about security as my local wage is higher than those in the main EU studio, so I'm more expensive to keep. Cue the whole room telling me that I'm valuable and worthwhile to my company 😭

Being back at Melbourne Games Week after 11 years has been strange but nice. I think I've changed more than MIGW has, which I think is a good thing.
Still a good opportunity for coming together as an industry and feeling connected. And Australian, which I haven't felt for a while.

Though also apparently I have the opposite of "resting bitch face", because so many random people on the street in Melbourne talk to me?? So far one weird interaction and one wholesome, so.. I'll take it.

Super nice to catch up with Aus games industry again after so long away 😊 Lots of new faces, but plenty of friendly people I recognise
