The wilds to the north of Hawkmoor are mapped! Aside from one coastal barbarian trading town, nothing will be labeled in this region since no imperial expeditions ever ventured here. I’ve now got the western half of the greater Hawkmoor region drawn. Next will be the eastern half. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg

“Your OD&D will vary.” That’s good and in the spirit of the original game. My foundation is the original 3 books. Then I use aspects of the OD&D Supplements, Holmes Basic, Judges Guild, Strategic Review, and Dragon. I use the AD&D Monster Manual. I also add some of my own stuff to it and experiment.

It’s been D&D “comfort food” reading the last two evenings with my favorite editions of the great game. Yesterday was 🍺 + AD&D 2e (my favorite edition). This evening it’s 🍺 + B/X D&D (my second favorite edition).

Even though I’ve been running Castles & Crusades for a number of years now and it’s my “D&D” of choice, I constantly reread parts of the PHB and CKG. It helps to further internalize rules and procedures. It’s also the rare game where I read every spell. ⚔️ #CastlesandCrusades #DnD #ttrpg

After 2 years of designing and playtesting, book 1 (the “PHB”) of my OSR game “Falenburg” is done. Next up is finalizing book 2 (the “DMG”) which includes compiling a few years of playtest notes, thoughts, random tables, etc. A lot of book 2 is already done. #OSR #DnD #ttrpg

I’m bummed I missed out on GameHoleCon due to illness. Next Cons won’t be until spring, when I’m planning on attending GaryCon and DaveCon. Until then we’ll be gaming through the fall and the long, cold Wisconsin winter.

This evening’s reading is Empire of the Petal Throne. After speaking a lot with Victor from the Tékumel Foundation at ArneCon last weekend (and getting some great tips), I’m motivated to want to get the system and especially the setting down enough to run some sessions with EPT. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg

I’m using @dysonlogos.bsky.social B/X character sheets for my OD&D campaigns. It’s not a 100% matchup, but 99.9% and the slight differences are negligible. I just find it visually extremely appealing and the players are able to put all important info on a page with room to spare. #DnD #OSR #ttrpg
