I was ready to be pissed but I think you got it right other than overrating OG Halloween 2!
I’ve not laughed so hard at you being so taken with a bit of a dialogue since ‘what a goose’!
And they will get away with it. Most of my family will rage about what’s happening. They’ll shut up when Trump voting Uncle Hank is around. They’ll hang with him and invite him to Christmas. Everyone who lets this stand is complicit.
I feel like this was a bit in the background of a scifi comic in the 90s that we were all like ‘that wouldn’t happen’.
They don’t even know what they’re describing. Horror itself is so subjective. They just want something that they don’t find more violent or upsetting than they’re comfortable with.
This is literally my relationship with horror. The term ‘cozy’ does not really work in regards to horror, at least not the way they mean it.
See, here’s where I needed you to go ‘close enough’ 😂 I figured but might still break some rules for it. That cast is chef’s kiss.
Gonna be my post October binge (unless you can convince me it’s horror in some way). God bless Malin Ackerman and keep her safe and make society realize she is treasure.
MTV’s My Super Psycho Sweet 16 trilogy > than MTV’s Scream: the series.
The character of Larry Underwood, through one novel and two different adaptations, continues to be the cringiest, most embarrassing thing Stephen King is responsible for. “Baby Can you Dig Your Man?” No. In fact I can not.
Also Marvel has been boring as shit for at least five years.
The same people who flip out about the idea that Jason might have theoretically driven a car to kill Alice have no problem with Michael Myers driving literally everywhere all the time.
I know, probably more appropriate for Joe’s horror podcast. I just really like when you guys do episodes that go far afield, and the actual YA content in the first arc is so well done. It’s just also pretty grisly.
I’ve been being a bad fan and not playing along- although last night was Perfect Blue which does have some nasty eye mutilation -but I’ve been looking for an excuse to put on, as my partner calls it, ‘the one where you’re horny for George from Seinfeld’
You’re being a great and loving cat dad. This week has been particularly rough over here, so thanks for the updates. Seeing how well she’s doing is some much needed hope and positivity.
Unlikely since Brevoort has already come out as a ‘get used to AI it’s not a big deal’ dickwad.
As much as it pains me to visit trauma upon @brennacgray.bsky.social, should that Something is Killing the Children adaptation ever actually happen, I will beg for it to be an October episode. Beg and plead, even.
After my Joe got his teeth pulled, I was so terrified. Surgery is a lot for these little babies. I’m so glad your girl is doing better. Keep giving her love and attention and keep monitoring for any small issues during recovery. It sounds like she’s out of the woods but let’s keep her out of them!
This person doesn’t understand we aren’t living anywhere near the sort of ai that stars in the literature of Philip Dick or Isaac Asimov, which is a bit like not understanding we don’t live in the same world as Batman.
The trailer for this was on Joe Bob the other night and I was shocked to learn it wasn’t a trailer for a parody movie. I’m not the biggest fan of these movies but that still sucks, I’m sorry it was a bummer.
Stranger Things but remade a few decades in the past with the cast of Freaks and Geeks.
