Heretics of Dune
My first read of the year for my 25 book goal. An enjoyable read, despite all the criticism I've heard. Still feels like it was just a setup for Charterhouse but I did enjoy learning more about the Bene Gesserit, the Tleilaxu, and ramifications post-Tyrant. #dune #books

Told myself I'd go read a short novel after that 700 pg Hobb book, but here I am starting my adventure into Wheel of Time 😅 half reading, half with the audio book that Rosamund Pike narrates. 💞

Really trying to like Royal Assassin (book 2 of Robin Hobbs Farseer trilogy) but it feels like all the intriguing plots are happening outside the POV. I'm 550/670 pages in and it just feels like nothing really happens. Probably won't pick up the third for a while. 😫

Thought I'd lost my copy of Eye of the World, so I bought another and it arrives today. GUESS WHAT I JUST FOUND ON THE BF'S BOOKSHELF. x.x

Past week: I finished The Hero of Ages (amazing finale), then Sabriel a few days later (loads of fun, grabbing the sequels soon) and now I'm moving on to Downbelow Station, my first of C.J. Cherryh.

Book haul from the four bookstores I went to today! I left my house with the goal of finding Sabriel, but ended up getting a few others. (It was a long walk, I felt I had earned it) 😂

Finally watched the absolute banger film that is Hackers (1985). Can't believe I'd gone this long without seeing this movie. Soundtrack, downloaded.

The epilogue was simply beautiful, but despite reading this in 3 days, I was often bored. Interesting, undeveloped stories waiting just offstage; too many naive or annoying characters. The last 70 pages were pleasant enough. This cover is great though. #SFF #Scifi

National Read A Book day! I'm currently halfway through Windhaven, by GRR Martin and Lisa Tuttle, and then Cyteen next! I just finished Between Two Fires on Monday (loved it!)

I'm at book no. 20 for the year this far but I'm always looking for the next read! Hope to find some good recommendations here! Goal is 30, which is 29 more than I did last year, getting back into reading was a great choice. 🩷
