Done with part 4 of Helen Shrimpton’s 2025 CAL: Solstice Star. I’m learning so much and love the community for these patterns!

I got fluusted yesterday (flu + covid shots) and my ass has been absolutely HANDED to me today. Worth it, would do it again. Maybe just plan on getting your shots over a weekend or on a day you don’t have to work

Went ahead and designed our Christmas cards last nite. They’re supposed to be like a Spotify wrapped moment but now that Spotify is like…. Running ICE ads and supporting genocide and being generally shitty idk if I wanna go through with it! But they’re so cute!

One of my top #mglit for the year I think!! Don’t let the cover fool you, this isn’t some saccharine little story about a girl and a dog. Emotional depth, growth, joy, trauma, and the most lovable fictional dog I’ve read in a long time

There's nothing like working in a library to rob you of your reverence for books-as-objects. There's lots of books that we can simply recycle. Multiple copies of Microsoft Excel 97 for Dummies don't contribute all that much to the great tapestry of human knowledge.
And where does this reverence end? Must we faithfully preserve all crumbling copies of old travel guides? Phone books? The Highway Code? Of course archives should hold a few copies, but all of them?

Book 159/150: Isle of Ever by Jen Calonita and this is the first unputdownable #mglit book I’ve read this year. So close to perfect you can almost taste it but by GOD if one more unidentifiable emotion flickers across someone’s face in this series I’ll… just keep reading, tbh. It’s so good. 5⭐️

I wanted to spend my birthday being hedonistic at Olive Garden but instead I have to go facilitate a formal book challenge review committee and try to convince them banning books is bad youtu.be/WN0_gW1SI78

I don’t know how people think children w/o transport or money are getting books outside of school? Children have so little autonomy- they don’t even decide if they get to GO to school sometimes. The school library is one of the only places they get to be fully independent and make their own choices.
The REALLY good stuff usually isn't in school, kids. Don't let it be your only source!
There have been almost 23,000 book bans since 2021, per a new PEN America report.

Things I’ve learned since getting a part time job in a gym
-a surprising number of people drink 5-hr energy on the toilet
-a shocking number of people need to be told they have to wear shoes in the gym
-lots of people just go to the gym to hang out with their friends and chat
